Tata Memorial Centre (TMC), administered under Department of Atomic Energy (DAE), is India’s leading cancer care centre, providing comprehensive quality care to one and all, through its motto of excellence in service, education and research. ICICI Bank has committed to donate ₹1,200 Crores through ICICI Foundation to set up three state-of-the-art blocks - one each at Navi Mumbai in Maharashtra, Mullanpur (New Chandigarh) in Punjab and Visakhapatnam (Vizag) in Andhra Pradesh.
This contribution, which is the largest contribution to TMC from any institution, will support in enhancing cancer care services comprehensively, across different regions. These new centres of oncology, will offer excellent treatments with advanced evidence based therapies, to an additional 65,000 patients in a year. Through this, the gap in the current oncology infrastructure will be minimised and the access and treatment support for the patients will be enhanced.
The new centre at Navi Mumbai will have state-of-the-art radiology facilities, including CT scanner and MRT, a new facility for outdoor patients, laboratories, and a radiotherapy facility for in-patients that will boost the quality of cancer treatment under a single-roof. The other two centres at Mullanpur, Punjab and Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh will be equipped with an array of advanced equipment and therapies required to treat paediatric and haematological cancer including rare cases. The facilities will include intense chemotherapy, bone marrow transplantation, radiation therapy and newer immunotherapies like CAR-T cell, which are available only at super specialised centres.
We have laid the Foundation Stone for ICICI Foundation Block (Children and Blood Cancer) in Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh on June 12, 2025.
