ICICI Foundation and Indian Institute of Technology-Kanpur (IIT-K) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to work together on a digital health stack project towards advancing and strengthening healthcare. This ICICI Digital Health Stack (ICICI-DHS) will leverage technology and artificial intelligence and align with the frameworks of Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission (ABDM). Starting with the state of Uttar Pradesh, this will be expanded to the public healthcare infrastructure in the country.
In September 2023, the MoU was signed by Prof. J Ramkumar, Acting Dean of Resources and Alumni, IIT Kanpur, and Mr. Sanjay Datta, President, ICICI Foundation in the presence of senior officials of ICICI and senior professors of IIT-K. This is a significant collaboration and initiative in the realm of building capacities in healthcare, our core focus of work.

ICICI Digital Health Stack at IIT-K
Poised to become a replicable model for digital health innovation in India, enabling smarter, stronger, and more inclusive healthcare systems for the future.
A bed-booking, ambulance discovery and referral system was deployed in Maha Kumbh 2025. This RT-BARP system was developed in 2 weeks, covering 28 districts. Across the duration of the Maha Kumbh, this comprehensive network ensured that timely medical assistance was readily available to all pilgrims.
“Through this project of ICICI Digital Health Stack that we initiated last year, we aim to develop deployable technology for complete evidence-based, implementable, person-focused and digitally enabled healthcare delivery for all in the state of Uttar Pradesh. It is my pleasure to mention that as part of this initiative our team developed Real Time Bed Availability and Referral Portal (RT-BARP) which was successfully deployed during the Maha Kumbh 2025, ensuring better preparedness and improved medical accessibility during the event. We are grateful to ICICI foundation for the generous support.”
