What’s It About

Planting across the country as per the need and geography towards enhancing green cover and contributing positively to the environment

Tree Plantation is not just an activity; it is a long term commitment to environmental conservation. Trees are essential for carbon sequestration, climate resilience and sustaining biodiversity. As part of our initiatives under environment and ecology, we undertake plantation and afforestation to restore the degraded lands across the country.

The initiative comprises partnering with institutions to undertake different types of plantations such as Agroforestry - an initiative where various fruit and vegetable trees are planted to enhance livelihood opportunities for the local community along with ecological advantages; Bund Plantation - where saplings are planted alongside water bodies; Block Plantation – a plantation initiative where mass saplings are planted on one piece of land; Dryland Agro Forestry – a method developed by Sundaram Verma for planting trees in arid regions and Miyawaki Forests - a method by Akira Miyawaki to grow mini forests using native species in a compact land. With these various plantation and afforestation initiatives, we are paving the way for a resilient, sustainable planet.

Where we are

Greening the planet through plantation drives across diverse geographies!

Through our plantation drives in collaboration with institutions, local authorities and communities, we have planted about 4.9 mn trees in the country. Each tree is contributing meaningfully to the environment.

As a special initiative, we have also collaborated with Tata Power towards launching Ghanvan, a project to plant across 75 acres in 5 years. The project entails planting native species, with proper spacing and scientific techniques to ensure highest survival.
