Water is fundamental to life. It sustains biodiversity, supports livelihoods, drives economic activity, and underpins community well-being. It is at the core of both ecological balance and human development. Without water, everything will cease to exist. However, we are increasingly grappling with water scarcity.
Groundwater levels are rapidly depleting, more than the average decline rates and water stress is compounding due to over extraction of ground water, a growing mismatch between demand and supply, and inefficient maintenance of water structures. A significant runoff leads to loss of water that could otherwise be conserved. We cannot sustain without water. This makes it imperative to address the challenges and work on conserving it.
Our approach centres on holistic water conservation with focus on recharge, retention and rejuvenation to strengthen water security and in turn, support biodiversity and community. We implement these interventions both within institutions and at the community level, working in partnership with different entities, leveraging their expertise and ensuring effective, on-ground outcomes.
Our interventions revolve around supporting creating of different watershed structures, suited to the topography, geography and feasibility. With the concept of ‘One Water’, we work on both surface and ground water to enhance water availability, improve recharge and lead towards being water secure.
