Forest is the epicentre for biodiversity and it is vital for sustaining our planet. However, there are multitude of factors leading to depletion and dwindling of forest and biodiversity such as – Habitat Loss, Human-Wildlife Conflict, Limited Food and Water Availability, Climate Change, Breeding Needs, Unavailability of sustainable livelihood opportunities, Need of Resources, Agricultural Requirements and Livestock Grazing. Our forest initiatives are designed to address these holistically and comprehensively.
Work inside forests comprises habitat and grassland development, patrolling and surveillance support, waterbody rejuvenation and construction, renewable energy, protective and safety equipment and other need-based support. On the other hand, we empower the periphery communities by providing alternate sources of livelihood, capacity building, resources, agricultural support and likewise. Together, these activities reduce forest dependency and enhance biodiversity.
"Elephants around Water Hole in Cauvery Forest"
"Tigers Playing in Earthen Bund at Sariska Tiger Reserve"
We work in collaboration with forest departments Pan-India. Till date, we have intervened in 56 forests and tiger reserves such as Sariska Tiger Reserve, Satpura Tiger Reserve, Nagarjuna Srisailam Tiger Reserve, Amrabad Tiger Reserve, Junner Forest Division, Umred Pauni Karhandla Wildlife Sanctuary and others.
We have developed 4,000+ hectares of grasslands, rejuvenated 300+ water bodies, donated 100+ patrolling vehicles, rescue vans and protective equipment, and supported livelihood for thousands of people in the periphery communities. Each intervention in and around the forest is a step closer to conserving biodiversity and supporting ecology.
