National Skill Training Institutes (NSTIs) play a critical role in India’s skilling ecosystem, serving as premier institutions for advanced vocational training and capacity building. As industries rapidly evolve with technological advancements, NSTIs are increasingly required to equip learners with new-age competencies aligned to Industry 4.0.
Emerging sectors such as artificial intelligence, electric mobility, semiconductors, and automation are reshaping the employment landscape, creating a growing demand for skilled professionals with specialised, technology-driven capabilities. Strengthening NSTIs with modern infrastructure and experiential learning environments is therefore essential to bridge the gap between traditional training and future industry requirements.
Our approach focuses on strengthening the skilling ecosystem through the development of advanced labs across National Skill Training Institutes (NSTIs) in India. These labs are designed to provide hands-on, technology-driven training across key sectors such as artificial intelligence, electric vehicles, robotics, semiconductors, renewable energy, and medical electronics.
The initiative enables learners to build critical competencies in areas such as data analytics, Internet of Things (IoT), EV servicing, green energy maintenance, chip assembly, electronics manufacturing, automation, smart manufacturing, pneumatics, and solar EPC. To further enhance learning outcomes, the labs integrate immersive technologies such as AR and VR, enabling simulation-based training and practical exposure. In addition to foundational skilling, the intervention supports upskilling, training of trainers, and engagement with industry experts, ensuring that the ecosystem remains dynamic, relevant, and aligned with evolving industry needs.
Our interventions are strengthening institutional capacity across 9 NSTI centres through the establishment of 22 advanced lab set-ups, enabling training across 22 Industry 4.0 trades. This ecosystem is creating access to future-ready skilling for up to 6350+ beneficiaries, aligned with emerging industry demands.
By integrating cutting-edge technologies, practical learning environments, and industry-relevant competencies, the initiative is enhancing opportunity for learning skills aligned to the market needs and preparing learners for high-growth sectors. With a comprehensive approach that spans foundational training to advanced specialisation, we are facilitating skill training for the community to be able to drive innovation and have opportunities for sustainable livelihoods.
