As part of a national programme initiated by the Ministry of Rural Development (MoRD), RSETIs are set up by banks to provide vocational training to rural youth from marginalised communities. Since March 2011, ICICI Foundation manages ICICI RSETIs in Udaipur and Jodhpur on behalf of ICICI Bank.
The primary focus of ICICI RSETI model is on-demand based training, wherein the requirements of various local employers are mapped for developing relevant and contextual curricula for the courses. This leads to a better employment of the youth trained at the ICICI RSETIs.
Another innovation pioneered by ICICI RSETIs is setting up of satellite centers in various blocks within the district, which provides ‘training-at-doorstep’ to youth. The satellite centers offer flexible on-location training courses to local youth.
