Speak for Smiles Event Series

ICICI Foundation for Inclusive Growth and Toofles Foundation, in partnership with CNBC-TV18, has launched Speak for Smiles, a series of events exploring leadership and the role that business leaders play in giving back to society.

At colleges in Mumbai, ten eminent leaders will discuss their perspectives on leadership and their personal motivations for contributing to the nation’s development. Each event is aired on CNBC-TV18 and the proceeds generated are donated to an NGO of the speaker’s choice.

As part of ICICI Foundation’s work to promote socially responsible leadership, Speak for Smiles aims to present the youth of India with a variety of views on creating change and to inspire them to give back to society.

Speakers include Dr. Nitin Nohria, Dean of Harvard Business School; Mr. K.V. Kamath, Non-Executive Chairman of ICICI Bank; Dr. Subir Gokarn, Deputy Governor of Reserve Bank of India; Ms. Indra Nooyi, CEO of PepsiCo.; Mr. Kumar Mangalam Birla, the Chairman of Aditya Birla Group; Mr. Paul Polman, the Worldwide CEO of Unilever; and Dr. Ashok Ganguly, Member of Parliament, Rajya Sabha and Chairman ABP Private Ltd.

Inclusive India Series

ICICI Foundation partnered with CNBC-TV18 in FY2013 to present ‘Inside India’-a unique three-part initiative focusing on inclusive growth.

The series showcased the efforts made by various groups in building an inclusive and sharing these innovative models. The first phase was a four-episode TV series titled, ‘Inside India-Ideas for Inclusive Growth’ which relates to the four pillars of inclusive growth, namely primary healthcare, elementary education, sustainable livelihood and access to finance. This was followed by the Inside India summit, which brought together experts and thought leaders from various fields who focussed on the challenges facing inclusive growth. The series concluded with the Inclusive India Awards, which recognised and honoured individuals and organisations who had done exemplary work in these fields.
