The IFMR Trust has initiated the incubation of sector specific network enterprises and has also begun the process of making initial investments in a number of supply chains. These initiatives fill missing gaps in basic infrastructure pertaining to specific aspects of rural outreach. The investments made thus far include the following.
Vocational Training-Network Enterprise
STRIVE - The Vocational Training Network Enterprise with its demand-based approach aims to provide livelihood opportunities to youth from underserved and unreached segments of population both geographically and economically in a bid to bring them to the mainstream
Consumer Products-Network Enterprise
Earthy Goods - The Consumer Products Network Enterprise is in the processed foods and consumer products space. It actively works with private entrepreneurs, CSOs/ NGO's and enterprises who produce high quality food products engaging the low income households and connecting them to markets. By doing so it enhances the commercial returns to them through market linkages and employment opportunities.
Handicrafts -Network Enterprise
Sandhi - The handiccrafts Network Enterprise seeks to build sustainable livelihood opportunities for artisans and handicraft producers by improving product design, efficient sourcing of raw material, order management quality control, training and then linking the final produce to the main markets to bring back better returns to the low income households.
Water Health India (WHI)
The lack of potable drinking water in vast sections of rural India has an adverse impact on productivity levels as well as well being of the rural poor. WHI, subsidiary of Water Health International manufactures innovative water purification and disinfection technology systems for delivering clean water to the rural poor. IFMR Trust Network Enterprises Fund has made investments in WHI to set up community drinking water plants called Water Health Centres in over 200 villages which use these innovative water purification and disinfection technology systems.
Education Initiatives Pvt. Ltd.
Education Initiatives has devised tools for the assessment of educational services. ASSET, a tool that is capable of diagnosing the quality of education in an English medium school and ADEPT, a digital adaptive self learning product are effective methods of ensuring systematic feedback that can be used to monitor progress and correct any flaws in the system to ensure quality of education.

Grameen Capital India Ltd. (GCI) aims to promote microfinance as an attractive asset class by enabling access to the capital markets and a wider canvas of investors. Financial Information Network and Operations Ltd. (FINO)
To support the spread and viability of financial services to the rural masses, IFMR Trust has also invested in FINO. It comprises of a shared technology platform which uses a biometric enabled multi application hybrid smart card and biometric enabled handheld device to cater to the need of microfinance institutions serving the rural masses. FINO is a comprehensive solution, which offers a core banking system that provides accounting, MIS, reporting and monitoring facility and a distribution component that enables "offline" data capture from end users. FINO is expected to play a significant role in the future of the microfinance sector.
