Mohammed Zuber

An expert in IT compliance matters, Zuber has a Masters degree in IT and six years of work experience in IT. He has had a constant involvement in community-centric activities with organizations such as Rotaract and NSS and now hopes to build his knowledge of e-governance and micro-finance through this programme.

Creating information hub for an informed community based natural resource management process

Organization Name: Foundation for Ecological Security

Location: Rajasthan

Beginning: Zuber conducted an extensive study to analyse the information gaps in the village.

Journey:  He began through extensive communication with community institutions, partner non-governmental organizations, academia, and government functionaries to understand the different information hubs. He conducted a comparative study to analyse which of these is suitable and accessible for the villagers as well as the Community Based Organisations (CBOs).

Milestone: Zuber started non-computer based information dissemination initiatives such as exposure visits for villagers, awareness meetings; and different awareness raising methods including SMS and poster campaigns.

Capacity building of the community, promoting financial literacy for Women SHGs in Gajapati District

Organization Name: CENTRE FOR COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT (CCD)

Location: Odisha

Beginning: The process began with generating awareness about financial literacy and inclusion in the Tribal Community.

Journey:  Periodic meetings were conducted at the village level for sharing information about financial skills and literacy. He organized orientation program for the tribal and women members to motivate and sensitize the women on need assessment and utilization of micro-credit in a productive way.

Milestone:  Zuber was involved in capacity building to strengthen the Women Self Help Cooperative in Gajapati district. Additionally, Zuber also started non-computer based information dissemination initiatives such as exposure visits for villagers, awareness meetings, and different awareness raising methods including SMS and poster campaigns.
