ICICI Fellows is structured to have three complementary components:
Experiential Learning
Experiential learning forms the core of the programme. During the course of the programme, you will work on two six-month long development projects with leading organizations. This on-ground experience will help you gain a deeper understanding of the India’s diverse rural areas. You will work closely with an experienced team of senior professionals from the organization on issues faced by the local community.
Management Training
The programme commences with a four-week induction training that will equip you with the professional tools you need to make a valuable contribution to your host oganizations. This training encompasses a range of management and development-related topics including project management, financial engineering for low-income households, communication skills, monitoring and evaluation, development perspectives and rural livelihoods, in addition to workshops on personal development and leadership skills. The faculty will be experts in their fields and will share their experiences in the development sector, thus enriching you and preparing you for the journey ahead.
Rural immersion forms an important aspect of the induction training. It is week-long component where you will spend time in a village household, interacting with rural communities and understanding them. Simple tasks will be assigned to you, which will facilitate observation and learning of the rural community.
In between the two six-month projects you will come together with your peers to share experiences and have the opportunity to discuss your work with technical experts. These group meetings also include sessions on management and development subjects, as well as workshops on leadership and personal development.
Together, these trainings are designed to catalyse a transformation in you to become a leader who will help India take the bigger step.
Personal Development and Mentoring
At the beginning of each project you will be assigned a Personal Coach. Your coach will interact with you, helping you put together a personal development plan enabling you to achieve it and assisting you to overcome roadblocks on the way.
A mentor will be assigned to you from the oragnization that are working with for the duration of your project. They will provide advice and support throughout your project.
