SOCIAL VENTURES
Programme: Support to micro-ventures
ICICI Venture supports Rang De (www.rangde.org), India's first peer-to-peer micro lending platform, which promotes micro enterprise development in rural and semi-urban locations. Rang De is an innovative attempt to bring down the cost of micro credit by enabling individuals to become social investors, making it possible for them to lend small sums of money to borrowers from low-income households who typically have no access to low-interest credit.
ICICI Venture is participating in the Corporate Connects programme of Rang De, which enables corporates to give micro loans to entrepreneurs in rural and semi-urban areas across India. ICICI Venture will have the ability to monitor the disbursal of funds and also engage its employees in the process.
